TROVE

TROVE, a British wallet manufacturer, had a product different to the rest, so they wanted to make it stand out from the crowd. With LikeMind Media’s help, they did just that.  

WHO ARE TROVE?

Waste is high in the manufacturing industry, particularly when it comes to apparel. However, the owners of Mowbray Leather Goods, a factory in Melton Mowbray, were not happy to accept this, so sought a sustainable use for their excess leather, left over from production. For more than a year, they created many different prototypes with this excess leather in an attempt to create a unique, saleable product – everything from phone cases, folios, pouches, key rings, wallets and even a cup holder. After endless research, the TROVE wallet was born.  

When we first designed the TROVE wallet, we faced one big challenge: getting people to buy them. We knew we had an amazing product and we wanted to share it with others. LikeMind Media listened to what we needed, and helped us to increase sales of wallets through social media ads. 

CAMPAIGN 1: ARTIST COLLABORATION

WHAT WAS THE CHALLENGE?

LikeMind Media work with TROVE to create engaging and varied content for their audience with a clear product and sales focus, while also keeping a conversational tone of voice for the TROVE brand. Using photos, videos and engaging posts, we promote the TROVE brand and their products.  

We were looking for something really special though – to capture the attention of the audience. A new campaign was created - a collaboration with artists.  

WHAT WAS OUR SOLUTION?

We began to look for artists to collaborate with, by identifying key criteria that would increase the exposure of TROVE to a relevant audience. Among other things, this included a high follower count and creative work. 

Once we found artists who were the right fit, we connected with them and offered a collaboration: they could put their design on a custom TROVE wallet and, in return, send us a photo of the finished product when they received it. Simple... and it worked.  

21 designers agreed to create their very own TROVE, and we shared them on TROVE’s social channels showcasing their

incredible artistic skills to our audience, all while showing how versatile and customisable the wallets are. The artists shared them too, increasing TROVE’s brand awareness and getting them in front of a bigger audience. 

This simple campaign not only achieved great results, with an increase in sales, but also gave us a chance to promote some fantastic artists and their work. The campaign and the designs created received a strong reaction. So strong, in fact, we took the collaborations a step further and, working with the same designers, began to sell their designs as a limited edition.

CAMPAIGN 2: THIS IS NOT JUST A SLIM WALLET

WHAT WAS THE CHALLENGE?

How do you sell a wallet, in a world full of wallets? Almost everyone needs one but how do you get them to choose yours? The answer is, of course: Marketing. TROVE wallets not only needed to stand out, but they needed to be seen by people.  

WHAT WAS OUR SOLUTION?

LikeMind Media began working with TROVE to create campaigns that communicated their products' USPs. One of these campaigns focused on the fact that there is more to a TROVE wallet than just being slimline. We needed content to put out on social media.  

We created a promotional video, in keeping with the tone of voice used on the TROVE social accounts, to make it easily recognisable. 

Now that we had a video, we had to promote it. We decided the best way to get TROVE in front of new people, and fast, was using social media adverts. While we knew that achieving strong results wouldn’t be easy, and the average clickthrough rate was trending downwards, we were confident that we could create a social media ad campaign that generated results. And we did.
